Why Carbon-neutral Leisure?

Who cares for this and why?
Is there a need to promote carbon-neutral leisure? These are the question that emerge upon reading a blog title that talks about carbon-neutral leisure and education. Why this focus on this carbon-neutral leisure? For understanding these one will have to be aware of the responses for climate change that is happening due to many factors and one of them being the emission of green house gases. Promotion of carbon-neutral leisure alone will not address the issues, but this would be certainly reduce in the emission of green house gases that are released through engagement in ecologically hostile leisure that are avoidable. There are faith based measures for leisure such as prayer five times a day that are offered by men and women following the commands of Allah. There are other carbon-neutral engagements in the neighbouhoods with zero emission of green house gases. Across the cities, we find that more and more people are engaged with leisure activities where consumption of energy guzzling services and utilities is involved ,whether it be partying, exhibitionist family functions and others. Markets are being creating for purchase of such ecologically hostile services and utilities that are not needed and that goes against the precept of austerity, compassion and care. Of course, in abundance ,there is generosity.

Turkish leadership needs to move for building solidarities for carbon-neutral development visions in Asia and support transition efforts in US http://transitionus.ning.com through suggesting building social policies in order to reduce the emission of green house gases.
